Around The World with St. Patrick

St. Patrick’s Day is a holiday typical celebrated by the Irish, or those of Irish decent, as well as a handful of Christian religions that honor his sainthood by attending mass and feasting. In America the holiday has turned into a parade filled, green beer drinking, Irish potato gobbling, leprechaun hat and shamrock pin wearing party. But how does the rest of the world celebrate this greenest holiday?

In Ireland, the majority of people are Roman Catholic and to honor those of Christian denomination, bishops release worshipers from the Lent rule of `No Meat on Friday’s` so that the Irish society may indulge in a huge feast. Most cities hold their own parades and fests too but none holds a candle to the St Patrick’s Day parade and festival in Dublin.
