When it comes to creating a budget it's easy to forget about those little expenses. They don't seem important, but it's that dollar or two spent on a daily basis that really adds up at the end of the month. and leave us short on cash before the next paycheck arrives.In order to save we simply need to know how we buy. Whether we buy groceries, clothing or electronics, we usually pay a higher price than we have to. Add to that the cappuccino, newspaper and cigarettes, our expenses can skyrocket. • A shopping list: It's been said before a thousand tomes, but you will end up spending a lot more than you planned if you don't know what it is you absolutely need. It encourages impulse buying. Making that list will enforce some self-discipline. That's not to say you should cut out the ice cream and cookies-just included them in your list.
• Clearance and bargains: The discounts can be quite substantial. Do you really need an undamaged box of oatmeal when a slightly crumpled one with the contents intact will give your kids the same nutrition?
• Buy Bulk: If you have a large family, buying in bulk makes sense. No need to buy that box of Uncle Ben's when a large bag will provide several meals for your family.
